I forgot my user ID and password. How can I retrieve it?


You can retrieve your user name and password by clicking on the Login link on the menu on the left. On the login screen, click on the reminder link below the login fields at the bottom of the login box. If you've forgotton your user name, you can still retrieve your information by entering your email address in the field provided.




Why am I being asked to confirm my account?


Here are a few possible reasons for this:

  1. You have just registered a new account. All new accounts require confirmation before message posting is allowed.
  2. You have recently modified your profile. Whenever you make changes to your profile, you will be asked to confirm it again.
  3. The forum administrator has received a notification that your email address is invalid or not working properly. Whenever the discussion board tries to send a message notification to the email address you have in your profile, it checks to see if that email was delivered properly. If the email cannot be delivered properly for any reason, the administrator is notified. If it appears to the administrator that your email account is no longer working, your account will be reset so it requires confirmation. If you believe this is the case, please update your profile with a working email address.




Why was my account deleted?


Here are a few possible reasons for this:

  1. You may have created more than one account with similar names and the same email address. If you are sure you have created an account in the past, but have forgotten your account login name or password, please do not create a new account. Instead, use the Login screen to have your existing account information sent to you via email.
  2. Your account may be deleted if you have violated one or more of the discussion forum rules.
  3. If you created or changed your account profile more than two weeks ago, but never confirmed your account, your account may be deleted. Periodically, the administrator will delete any accounts that have been pending confirmation for more than two weeks.




I'm having trouble posting messages on the discussion board. (UPDATE)

I never received my confirmation email after I registered.


The confirmation email is normally delivered within a few minutes of registering.

First check your profile and make certain your email address is valid and is able to receive incoming mail. Check every letter to make sure you spelled your email address correctly. Some typos are hard to spot. Also, make sure you used the correct domain type (.net, .com, .org) for your email address domain.

If you use any type of email SPAM filtering software or if your mail provider uses any type of SPAM filtering, you may need to configure it to allow email to come from 2dogwood@bellsouth.net. For AOL users, this can usually be done by adding the address 2dogwood@bellsouth.net to your AOL address book. If you have multiple screen names, make sure to add it to the address book for the screen name you have entered in your profile.

AOL users should also check their "Spam Folder" to see if the confirmation notice was incorrectly detected as spam. You can view your Spam Folder by starting AOL and clicking the Mail menu, then selecting Spam Folder from that menu. On older versions of AOL, try going to Keyword "Spam Folder" if this menu option is not available.

After you have made the changes above to your email address or your SPAM filtering, you can force another copy of the confirmation email to be sent to you by viewing your profile and clicking the "Resend Confirmation E-Mail" button at the bottom of the screen. This forces another email to be sent to the email address in your profile with the confirmation link needed to activate your account.

If you still have trouble receiving the confirmation email, you may want to open a "free" web-based email account through one of the internet's free email providers. If you are able to receive emails at that account, you can be relatively certain that your regular email account is somehow filtering out the emails from the community web site.

How do I report an HOA violation or problem in the community? (NEED FORM)


You can send a violation report via email using the online HOA Violation/Problem Report Form.




Why is it mandatory for Dogwood South Residents to be members of the pool?


When the developer approached the association suggesting Dogwood South become a part of the Dogwood Park HOA, it was agreed that since the pool would be in place at the time of new residency, that the new residents of Dogwood South would be automatic members of the pool club and pay the annual membership fee. It’s not mandatory for Dogwood Park residents because they lived here prior to the pool being built. Therefore, their membership is optional.




Who do I have to submit my plans to in order to start construction on a fence, home, pool, or any other new construction on my lot?


All construction projects must be approved by the HOA Architectural Control Committee prior to start of construction. Plans and specifications should be emailed to 2dogwood@bellsouth.net or dropped off at the administrative office located in the clubhouse.




What do I do if I received a bill in the mail that showed I owe more money for my dues, but I’ve already paid my dues?


Could have crossed in the mail or the family that owned your house before you may have sold the home to you without notifying you of the outstanding debt. Call the business office (318) 949-1033.





Amenities

Why do HOA members have to pay for special functions in the community center clubhouse?


The costs associated with the clubhouse require us to charge a fee for special functions. HOA pool members receive a discounted rate than do non-pool members. If you do your research, you’ll discover that the Dogwood Community Center Clubhouse has the lowest rates in town for the facilities rented.





Miscellaneous

My neighbor’s dog barks constantly. Can’t the association do something about this?


The HOA may enforce only what it is authorized to enforce in each individual unit's covenant. Because barking dogs are not included in covenants, the HOA has no jurisdiction to enforce this. The best approach to this is to discuss it with your neighbor. If this fails, you may notify the Bossier Sheriff's Office at 965-9549 or the Bossier Parish Animal Control Officer 965-9557 or 464-1993. Eventually, these things turn into battles resulting in permanent breakdown in neighborly relations. This isn’t productive for anyone, so try your best to work it out between yourselves




How to open gates for entry?


Use your gate remote to open the gate during evening hours. If your gate remote does not work or you do not have it with you, you can always punch in your security code at the panel. Also, you can use the panel to scroll to the persons name, follow the instructions to ring to their home phone (local number), the caller can then be verified and approved for entry at which time the recipent of the call will punch the number 9 on the home phone to open the gate.
